Two men have been charged after multiple guns, including a sawn-off pump-action shotgun, and drugs were found at homes in Loganholme and Logan Village.
Officers from the Logan District Tactical Crime Squad executed search warrants at the properties last month following investigations into drug offences.
Police said they raided the Logan Village address on 1 May, where they allegedly found methylamphetamine, cannabis plants, drug utensils and several firearms.
At the Loganholme address, police allegedly found the shotgun, a “large quantity” of ammunition, and a handgun.
Two Logan Village men, aged 36 and 57, were subsequently arrested.
Logan detective inspector Chris Knight praised the work of investigators and the action that took the items off the streets.
“The possession of dangerous drugs and firearms is a dangerous combination that presents significant risk to the community,” he said.
“This seizure highlights our officers’ ongoing investigations to make the local community safer.
“We will continue working with the community to reduce such risks and disrupt harmful behaviour.”
The 36-year-old man was charged with six counts of unlawful possession of weapons, two counts of authority required to possess explosives, unlawful possession of suspected stolen property, two counts of receiving tainted property, possess property suspected of having been used in connection with the commission of a drug offence, possess utensils or pipes etc that have been used, possession of property suspected of being the proceeds of an offence under Drugs Misuse Act and three counts of possessing dangerous drugs.
He was remanded in custody and is due to reappear in Beenleigh Magistrates Court on July 24.
The 57-year-old man was charged with possessing dangerous drugs, producing dangerous drugs and possess utensils.
He is due to reappear in Beenleigh Magistrates Court on July 17.
