Auto catches fireplace on PIE to Changi, no noted accidents
On Saturday (23 March), a vehicle was noticed to have caught hearth together the Pan-Island Expressway (PIE).
It included the motor of the vehicle, stated the Singapore Civil Defence Drive (SCDF).

The incident prompted a jam stretching again to Kallang, stated an eyewitness.
Car on hearth noticed on 23 March afternoon
An MS News reader said they caught sight of the fire at about 3.50pm on Saturday (23 March).
The burning car or truck was seen on the PIE towards Changi Airport, close to the exit major to Paya Lebar Street.
A video clip shared by the source, taken from a car or truck travelling in the reverse path, showed that a significant plume of smoke was the very first clue about the raging inferno.

Motor vehicle fire brings about PIE jam to Kallang
The eyewitness explained to MS News that the fire prompted a significant jam on the PIE.
Cars were being backed up all the way to Kallang — a distance of about 2km.
This was verified by the Land Transport Authority’s (LTA’s) traffic news account, which posted at 3.54pm referring to an accident that took put soon after the Paya Lebar Highway exit.

In an update at 3.59pm, LTA mentioned there was congestion until the Kallang Way exit.

As of 5.23pm, the congestion had not cleared up yet, LTA indicated.

At 6.10pm — more than two hours after the incident — there was however weighty targeted visitors on the PIE just after Paya Lebar.

Fireplace included engine of vehicle: SCDF
In reaction to queries from MS Information, the SCDF claimed it was alerted at about 3.40pm to a fire in that site.
“The hearth involved the motor compartment of a auto,” it extra.
The SCDF extinguished the fireplace using two water jets and discovered that there were being no noted injuries.
The trigger of the fireplace is underneath investigation.
