Thief takes SUV for joyride in JB after driver leaves it unlocked with engine running

A thief in Johor Bahru stole an SUV just after the driver left the vehicle unlocked with the motor functioning although he was refuelling it.

Luxurious objects and income had been claimed to have been in the SUV when it was stolen.

Businessman Mr Lin claimed he did not lock the auto or flip the engine off when refuelling his girlfriend&#8217s black Toyota Alphard.

The person allegedly locked the door and stepped on the accelerator, having off with the automobile.

Mr Lin advised ODM that there were several luxury things in the auto when it was stolen, such as:

  • A Louis Vuitton bag
  • A Fendi card holder
  • An Iphone
  • A Huawei mobile cellphone
  • Two pairs of Dior sun shades
  • Two pairs of Fendi sneakers
  • A Chanel scarf
  • A Coach jacket

Such as the Rm100 (S$29) stashed in the auto, Mr Lin and Ms Liu shed about RM30,000 (S$8,500) well worth of luxurious brand things and dollars.

The SUV was also valued at RM200,000 (S$57,045), bringing the total reduction from the theft to an believed RM230,000 (S$65,545).

Stolen vehicle appeared at a number of places

According to China Push Johor (CP), Ms Liu tracked the vehicle&#8217s spot via her Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) procedure.

The RFID showed the thief passing a toll plaza on a highway at 6.32am.

Ms Liu was also in a position to observe the area of the car by means of an Iphone that was in the SUV.

The robbers allegedly drove together the North-South Expressway for 100 km just before parking at a different petrol station for about an hour.

&#8220My good friend went to the Shell petrol station in the afternoon to test the CCTV and found that just after the thief arrived at the station, he stopped to &#8216rest&#8217 from 6.35am to about 7.25am,&#8221 Ms Liu reported.

She reported the criminal offense to the law enforcement at all over noon. The police tried to stick to the site of the Iphone, but have been unsuccessful immediately after it was suspected that the phone experienced been abandoned.
