Marsden woman, 20, charged over City stabbing

A 20-year-old Marsden woman has been charged after allegedly stabbing a woman in Brisbane City over the weekend.

Police said a fight broke out between two women on Turbot Street at around 1.30pm on Saturday (6 July).

“It will be further alleged during the altercation one woman received stab wounds to the cheek and neck from a pair of scissors,” a police statement said.

The women are believed to know each other.

The offending woman fled the scene, police said, but was found on Ann Street a short time later.

A 20-year-old Marsden woman has been charged with one count of acts intended to maim, two counts of possession of dangerous drug (methylamphetamine and cannabis) and one count of possession of drug utensils (scales). She will appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court today.

A 34-year-old Brisbane woman was taken to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital where she remains in a stable condition.
