Sri Lanka’s major private sector retail bank, HNB PLC, introduced two strategic additions to its Board of Administrators with the appointment of distinguished banking marketplace luminaries, S. Renganathan and Nanda Fernando as Independent Non-Government Directors, marking a substantial enhancement to the Bank’s governance and strategic direction.

Each Renganathan and Fernando possess over 4 many years of working experience and in depth observe-documents as transformative leaders in the banking sector. Renganathan is the former Managing Director/CEO of Business Lender of Ceylon PLC, where he was renowned for spearheading intercontinental acquisitions and expansions. He is also an Unbiased Non-Government Director at Sunshine Holdings PLC, Sunshine Health care Ltd., Agility Improvements (PVT) Ltd, Janashakthi Insurance policy PLC, Ceylon Hospitals PLC, Lina Spiro (PVT) Ltd, Lina Producing (Private) Ltd., Healthguard (Pvt) Ltd., Deputy Chairman of Damro Holdings Ltd and  Chairman of Marino Leisure Holdings Ltd. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, Uk (FCMA), Chartered World Management Accountant (CGMA), Fellow of the London Institute of Banking & Finance, United kingdom (FLIBF) and a Fellow of the Institute of Bankers Sri Lanka (FIB), and had obtained intensive Management, Management and Banking teaching domestically and in overseas.

Nanda Fernando, known for his visionary function as the Controlling Director of Sampath Financial institution, compliments the board with his in-depth knowledge and ground breaking approach to banking. Fernando has been instrumental in applying slicing-edge banking systems and client services paradigms.

Now, Fernando is the Handling Director of Specialist Business Consultants, a organization engaged in furnishing economic planning and advisory products and services. He is also a Director of Haycarb PLC, Dipped Merchandise PLC, Hayleys Fabric PLC, Lanka Bangla Finance PLC, and Lanka Bangla Securities PLC. He is a Senior Fellow of the Institute of Bankers Sri Lanka and possesses a Grasp of Company Administration from Sikkim Manipal University, India.
