Hearing awareness month

Quota Jimboomba is hosting its annual hearing and speech awareness lunch this July.

This year’s event will feature guest speakers John and Donna Ross from CICADA Queensland – a not-for-profit support organisation for people with hearing loss, cochlear implants and their families.

They will be speaking about “how to live with a deaf person”.

“They are quite qualified to speak about living with a hearing-impaired person,” Quota Jimboomba correspondence secretary Kim Bell said.

“Every year we put on a little luncheon and have different speakers – last year we had a policeman and a fire chief speaking about their experiences.”

Quota Jimboomba said the lunch would be full of information, friendship, fellowship, entertainment, raffles and lucky prizes.

The event is on Saturday 20 July, from 11am at Golden Inn Chinese Restaurant in Jimboomba.

The buffet lunch costs $25 per person.

Places are limited.

RSVP by 13 July: [email protected]
